We're Open: New England's Tap House Grille Opens Its Doors in Hooksett, NH

After months of planning, building, and dreaming, New England's Tap House Grille officially opened its doors in January 2013 at 1292 Hooksett Road in Hooksett, NH. For owners Dan Lagueux and Valerie Vanasse, this moment represented years of hard work and a vision for something Hooksett had never quite seen before — a scratch kitchen paired with one of the most ambitious craft beer programs in the region.

Why We Built New England's Tap House Grille

Hooksett deserved a restaurant that took both food and beer seriously. Dan and Valerie's vision was simple: build a place where every dish starts from scratch, where the beer list challenges and excites, and where the community feels genuinely welcome. From the open kitchen to the sweeping tap wall, every design decision was intentional. The result is a pub-style atmosphere with a sophisticated twist — comfortable booths, an energetic bar, and an open kitchen where you can watch your meal being made.

Our menu launched with a range of chef-driven American fare. Hand-pressed burgers on brioche buns. Housemade soups crafted daily. A poutine with sherry-peppercorn demi-glace and white truffle oil that immediately started turning heads. And behind the bar, roughly 50 beers on tap — organized by style so every guest, from craft beer novice to seasoned enthusiast, can find exactly what they want.

What Makes Tap House Different From Other Hooksett Restaurants

Two things set us apart from the start: the scratch kitchen and the beer program. Everything on our menu is made in-house. No shortcuts. The corn bread has maple butter. The rotisserie chicken is beer-brined overnight. The meatballs are hand-rolled, smoked, and finished with fire-roasted marinara. And on the beer side, our keg room — visible from the dining room — is a statement of intent. We don't pour average beer. We rotate constantly, chase interesting taps, and break down our list by style so discovery is part of the fun.

We also planted a flag in the community from day one. Hooksett had been underserved in the restaurant space for too long. We set out to change that — and the warm reception from our neighbors on opening weekend told us we were on the right track.
